Woman Locked Herself in Car After Police Pulled Her Over

A routine traffic stop can be flipped on its head as soon as someone doesn’t cooperate. A traffic stop turned into a standoff after a woman locked her car and refused to speak to the police officer who had pulled her over.

The Central and West Zealand Police said that the 26-year-old woman was originally pulled over near the town of Koege, Denmark, for talking on a handheld cell phone while driving and not wearing a seat belt. Police noted that the tires of her car were worn out, the rear window was missing and the vehicle’s insurance had expired.

Since the woman refused to open the car for police, officers had to call a mechanic for assistance. After the woman was removed from the car, police detained the woman and took her to a nearby hospital for a blood test.

Inside the vehicle, police found two folding knives, which led to additional charges for the woman. No other details have been given.
